What we work on

Five pillars of a marriage that holds

Every session and every guide in the app maps to one of these five. You always know what you are working on and why.

Communication

Being heard instead of managed. We work on the specific moment a conversation turns — tone, timing, interrupting, the silent treatment — and give you a replacement move you can actually use that night.

Conflict and repair

Every couple fights. Healthy couples repair fast. You will learn a fair pause, how to come back, and how to name a hurt without opening a case file on your spouse.

Intimacy

Intimacy starts long before the bed. Attention, sharing, respect and honest conversation come first; affection and sex follow closeness rather than replacing it.

Trust

After betrayal, secrecy, or years of small broken promises. Rebuilding trust is a sequence of verifiable actions over time, not one apology, and we walk it with you.

Partnership

Money and credit, children and parenting, blended-family roles, special-needs care, in-laws, chores and calendars. Most 'communication problems' are really unshared load.

Where you are

Marriage counseling for the season you are actually in

Married and drifting

Nothing is on fire, but you are roommates. This is the easiest season to turn around and the one couples most often postpone.

Married and fighting

The same argument on a loop. We interrupt the loop first, then deal with what it is actually about.

Married and in crisis

Betrayal, separation talk, or one of you already out the door. Start with a session; do not try to solve this over text.

Engaged or blending a family

Preparation uses the same muscles as repair. See premarital preparation for the eight conversations to have before the wedding.

Engaged? Start with premarital counseling. Want the faith-rooted version? Christian marriage counseling.

The seven-day guide gives you one honest conversation a day with the exact questions to ask. Most couples learn more about where they stand in that first week than in the past year. Then take the five-pillar check-up together and see the gaps side by side.

Questions

Marriage counseling FAQ

How does online marriage counseling work?
Every session is 50 minutes by video with both partners on the call. You pick a time, tell us in a few sentences what is going on, and the session starts where you actually are. Between sessions you use the guided conversation guides, daily rituals and conflict tools in the app so the work continues at home.
How much does marriage counseling cost?
A Two Hearts pastoral session is $95 for 50 minutes, with packs at $340 for four and $640 for eight. The app for both partners is $29 per month or $249 per year, and includes the check-up, conversation guides, daily rituals and conflict first aid.
Is it too late for marriage counseling?
Most couples wait years before asking for help, and many of those marriages still turn around. What matters more than how long it has been is whether both of you are willing to be honest for an hour at a time. If only one of you is ready, start anyway — one partner changing the pattern changes the conversation.
What do you work on in marriage counseling?
Five pillars: communication, conflict, intimacy, trust and partnership. In practice that means how you speak to each other under pressure, how you fight and repair, closeness that starts long before the bedroom, rebuilding trust after it has been broken, and the shared load of money, children and family.
Do you offer Christian marriage counseling?
Yes. Leo and Tarran Carter are ordained pastors and the mentoring is faith-rooted, covenant-centered and scripture-aware. Couples who do not share that faith are still welcome; we will not force a framework on you.
Is this licensed therapy?
No. This is pastoral marriage mentoring from ordained pastors with more than 30 years of marriage-counseling experience, not licensed clinical therapy, and we do not diagnose or treat mental health conditions. If clinical care is needed we will say so plainly.
Can we do marriage counseling if we are in different cities?
Yes. Video sessions work with both partners joining from wherever they are, including deployments, travel schedules and separations.
